As of October 1, 2017, The Mature Woman’s Center at Victoria hospital will be closing and redirecting its services. The rumour is, that general OB/GYN physicians will be able to care for the majority of patients. Those that require care from sub-specialists can be accommodated at HSC through existing resources… but there are no specific plans for the continuing clinical care of those patients.
This center has a successful and cost-saving program and is the only type of its kind that offers unique services. Because of this, termination of specialized and innovative professionals will be undoubtedly happening.
There will no longer be a place for women in the menopause program which is interdisciplinary and nurse managed and provided the latest evidence based menopause medical care.
